Is there anything else interesting about this update, or is this one just for (what I would presume would be) newer machines to fix the aforementioned score issue? A few minor things that R5 fixed or tweaked were not listed for it, so I am curious if this patch is the same way.

Nope! The SATA problem is the only change because we didn't really want to mess with other things at the same time until that was fixed and confirmed to work.

Ah, well, that's still good.

Tell me though, how would one end up with a SATA machine? Was I right in thinking it would be newer production runs, or is it relating to conversions?

The newer machines (since about one year ago) have SATA drives. The only reason for the change is manufacturers started phasing out IDE drives.

Speaking of patches and such. Will we ever see an Excore2? To my understanding, the Multiplayer version got a pop song pack.

There are no plans at the moment. Things may change though depending on how long it takes to finish the next major version.

Is that even being worked on? I know Jump is out but I was told differently about Pro2.

It would be nice if more arcades actually bothered to update their machines. What point is the existence of a update if no one ever installs it? :'(

Is is there a sequel to Pro coming after all or is this something else.

This. I too have heard stuff that Pro 2 is unlikely going to exist and that this may be it for the Pro games.

Could we get a answer on this, I know people have been wondering on this for awhile now but is there is gonna be a Pro 2 or is the rumors true and that future patches for Pro 1 and Pro 2 itself is getting/have been dropped?

I'm a bit curious about a sequel as well. Mainly because, my arcade (which has Pro) is considering NXA, but they want to stay with Pro for now because it's simpler for new players to just press start and get into, whereas NXA you have different modes and stuff to figure out what's going on.

If there is even a moderate "hardcore" community there, they would do better to get an NXA upgrade: they can make a boosted profit off the USB memory cards for the game.

If a pro2 ever rolls around, they could I am sure get that upgrade for cheap off of the money earned from NXA.

As for the ease of getting into the game, new players to pro can, and have, select progressive instead of normal and mess themselves up first play. NXA defaults to its beginner station (whatever it is called), so if a player does not select that and play, its their own fault.

That's the problem: no matter how easy you make things, beginners who do not even bother to read instructions or use plain logic and choose something labeled beginner or easy, are asking for a bad time.

All this, though, is based on what we know now, that if a Pro2 is ever made, it would be a long way off, and it is better now to get NXA (2 pump generations later of a game, mind you) or wait for the next game in the series (that Extra2 or whatever it is rumored to be).
